North American Indian Alliance Programs
The North American Indian Alliance is a non-profit organization serving Native American clients in the areas of chemical dependency, mental health, employment, and general health.
Health Program
The Health Program offers many essential services. The program offers access to over the counter medications, specialized clinics, contraceptives, and parenting classes.
Services are further increased by solid collaborations with community organizations such as Community Health, WIC, Social Security, Family Planning, Head Start, Homeward Bound, the Rescue Mission, St. James Hospital and many other beneficial organizations. North American Indian Alliance clients have access to dental, prescription services, and general medical care through the referral network.
Explicit care is also provided in the facility in the area of diabetes treatment. Diabetes supplies, the Accu-check system and personalized care for clients are provided by an in-house licensed practical nurse. Diabetic services including podiatry, dental, and pharmaceutical care are arranged and supervised by the Diabetes Department with competent local providers.
The state-certified Chemical Dependency Department provides referrals, assessments and evaluations, individual and OPT group counseling, education and prevention.
Mental Health
The mental health department works closely with the Chemical Dependency Department to provide a complete behavioral approach to client's issues. Individual, family, couples, counseling for children adolescents, adults, and elderly are practiced within the cope of the department. The Youth Program provides activities for youth ages 5 to 18 years with emphasis on recreation, spirituality, education and guidance. These components of the North American Indian Alliance (NAIA) combine to provide a multi-faceted organization that serves its constituents with respect and consistency.
Youth Program
The Butte School District has 236 Native American students registered on their enrollment figures. Education provides a key to a successful life for our children. Yet many of our Native American students who are registered on these rolls do not graduate. Our goal is to provide a positive program that supports and encourages our students to be proud of their Native American heritage, graduate, and then go on to college.
