Collaborative Approaches to Building Healthy Communities in Indian Country

HEALTH PROGRAM

Many of our clients are not eligible for Medicaid because of their income level or other requirements. Many clients require prescriptions for cancer, asthma, diabetes and mental health issues on an ever-increasing basis and do not have resources to get their medications. Currently, transportation is provided to the nearest IHS service unit, which is over 250 miles away (Heart Butte and Browning Hospital). The service unit has been an integral part in providing clients with the necessary medications in most situations.
